Shikhan District, 25 March 2024 - Hivi Volunteer Group is proud to announce the successful completion of its initiative aimed at fostering peaceful coexistence and limiting stereotypes in the Shikhan District. Through strategic collaboration with local stakeholders and youth activists, the initiative has made significant strides in promoting tolerance and mutual understanding among diverse religious and cultural groups within the community.


Commencing with meticulous planning and coordination efforts, the initiative encompassed a series of impactful activities, including comprehensive training workshops and engaging focus group discussions. These activities empowered participants with the tools and knowledge necessary for promoting peaceful coexistence, attracting a diverse components including both Muslim and Yezidi participants.


The initiative achieved notable visibility and traction on social media platforms, garnering widespread support and demand for similar projects in the region.

 

Prominent regional figures and stakeholders have commended the efforts of Hivi Volunteer Group, expressing eagerness to collaborate on future endeavors.


Despite the challenges posed by the implementation process, the initiative encountered no significant obstacles, owing to the seamless collaboration and cohesive teamwork demonstrated by all involved stakeholders.


In conclusion, the initiative stands as a testament to the power of collective action and youth-led initiatives in promoting peaceful coexistence and fostering a culture of tolerance within communities.


A set of recommendations were produced from this initiative. Work will be done to build advocacy on this basis in the future, side by side with the Peace and Freedom Organization and the concerned parties in the Shikhan District.


It is noteworthy that this initiative was implemented by the Hivi Volunteer Group in partnership with Peace and Freedom Organization (PFO) and with the support of Search for Common Ground (SFCG) organization and within the grants of the JISRA Participatory Project (PGM in JISRA).
