On Thursday, May 2, 2024, Peace and Freedom Organization held the final conference (Civil Society Organizations Boot Camp Project in the Iraqi and Kurdistan Region).

In the presence of representatives of several government agencies, representatives of the US Consulate in Erbil, representatives of civil society organizations, academics and experts in the field.

Mr. (Barzan Akram Mantik), the head of the Kurdistan NGOs department , delivered a speech at the conference, in which he highly appreciated the role of civil society organizations and praised the project.

For her part, Ms. (Ildiko Hrubus) thanked Peace and Freedom Organization for implementing the project and congratulated the 21 organizations that were able to benefit from the capacity building process during the project's implementation. then, certificates of participation in the project were shared among the 21 organizations.

In the last part of the conference, a special session was held to discuss the current situation of organizational work in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, as well as the relationship between civil society organizations and the Department of NGOs in both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. In which Mr. Barzan Sabir, Head of Informations department in the Kurdistan DNGO was present.

It is worth mentioning that the project (CSO Boot Camp in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region) was a project carried out over the past six months for organizations in Kirkuk, Halbja and Sheikhan. The project was implemented by Peace and Freedom and funded by the US Consulate General in Erbil.
