On 18 August 2026, the first two sessions of the Community Platforms were launched in Daquq District, with the participation of representatives from the Arab and Kaka’i communities, in cooperation with the Kurdistan Organization for Human Rights Watch (KOHRW) and with funding and support from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
The two sessions featured in-depth and interactive discussions on several priority issues identified by local communities, particularly access to safe drinking water and education. Participants shared their perspectives, discussed key challenges and needs, and proposed possible solutions to improve essential services and contribute to strengthening community stability.
This activity is part of the NABNI (Building for Peace) Project in Iraq, which focuses on supporting local communities, strengthening community participation, and promoting dialogue around shared priorities.
The project is implemented by PFO in consortium with KOHRW and funded by NRC.
